# Troubleshooting





## Issues with radios

### No lights come on
- The lights are hard to see in daylight - try it in the dark.
- Place it back in a magnet case to turn it off, and try again - there should be 2 red LEDs that light up for ~5 seconds after startup
- check battery charge
- check that it will charge (red light near the USB port)

### No messages
- Make sure you are on Flamingo firmware, not stock Meshtastic.
- Check preset, region, and the channels.

### Bad signal
- Ensure antenna is connected properly (externals only)
- Try rotating or repositioning to improve signal strength,
- try a similar unit in that location, if they are noticibly different, tag it out and send it to me for diagnosis.

### Water ingress
- Leave / place magnet on to keep the battery disconnected
- open cap
- drain water
- dry
- check cap and case for damage, and replace whichever needs it.

### Charge LED won't turn on
- The charge LED turns off when the battery is charged.
- See below

### Won't charge
- The battery can get low enough that the BMS disconnects, and it may stay there once a charger is connected. Wave a magnet near the switch to disconnect and reconnect the battery, and the charge LED should come on.
